PORTAL & SECURE MESSAGE POLICIES  *PLEASE READ*


SECURE MESSAGING:
Secure messages can be sent to your provider through the portal, but please limit this to essential updates or clarifications that cannot wait until your next scheduled visit (e.g., needing clarification on an existing treatment plan before starting, etc.). Repeated non-urgent messages or general inquiries may delay our ability to respond promptly to those with more pressing needs. Please note that some messages may qualify as billable "E-Consults" (see below).


For appointment scheduling, RX/supplement refill requests, or other non-clinical matters, message the reception staff or request a supplement refill directly under the "Supplement" section on your portal homepage. E-CONSULTS:
If you have symptoms or concerns that need to be addressed prior to your next scheduled visit, you may initiate a secure message that qualifies as an E-Consult. These messages involve clinical decision-making from your provider related to your symptoms, treatment response, or medication adjustments.


E-Consults are a billable, non-face-to-face communication for addressing issues that would typically require an in-person or telemedicine visit. E-Consults are not a substitute for routine follow-ups but help maintain care between visits.

In some cases, it may be inappropriate or unsafe to address your concern electronically, and you may be asked to schedule an acute telemedicine or in-person follow-up.


Note: Please consolidate your questions into a single message when possible. This helps ensure efficiency in responding to all patients in a timely manner.


IMPORTANT:
Email or E-Visits are NOT for emergency or urgent concerns. Please allow up to 7 days for a response. If you require immediate assistance, if you are experiencing symtpoms that need more prompt attention, or haven’t received a reply within 7 days, please call the office to alert staff to your portal message, and we will prioritize your needs.


Frequent use of messaging that could be addressed at a scheduled visit may result in delayed response times for all patients. We ask for your understanding in limiting non-essential communication.


BILLING INFORMATION:
When appropriate, E-Visits are billed at a minimum of $45. When submitting your secure message, you must consent to this charge if your request meets this criteria. Concerns requiring more advanced clinical decision-making and extended response time are billed at our standard office visit rates based on the time needed to address your concerns.


LIMITING MESSAGES:
To help us serve all our patients efficiently, we kindly ask that you consolidate your questions into a single message whenever possible. Excessive or frequent messaging may delay our ability to respond promptly to other patients.
